Oddbird Sparkling Rosé (Non-Alcoholic)

Description

Elegant, Fresh & Effortlessly Radiant

This sparkling rosé from the sun-drenched region of Languedoc-Roussillon is crafted from Syrah and aged for 12 months, resulting in a beautifully composed, alcohol-free expression with natural finesse and balance.

The aroma opens with vibrant notes of summer berries, fresh strawberries and raspberries, layered with crisp green apple and a touch of citrus brightness. Its delicate effervescence lifts the profile, while the naturally derived colour reflects the purity of its origin.

On the palate, it is silky and refined, with a dry, well-balanced structure and a refreshing acidity that carries through to a clean, elegant finish. Light, expressive and effortlessly drinkable.

A modern sparkling rosé that captures the essence of warm days, fresh, vibrant and quietly sophisticated, offering the full pleasure of French craftsmanship without alcohol.

"This is a wonderfully sparkling rosé from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France that has been “liberated from alcohol” by using what Oddbird terms “a specialised technique designed to remove alcohol while preserving their full potential and desired characteristics”

- John Clarke, Independent

Apple, Citrus, Summer Berries

Grapes

Syrah

Our Sparkling Rosé is crafted from Syrah, also known as Shiraz. The grape provides its natural colour, gentle tannin structure, and the subtle spice that defines this style of rosé. The combination of southern sunlight and wind-borne freshness allows us to produce wines with natural aromatic richness and balance, essential qualities that remain intact through dealcoholization.

Syrah (Shiraz) - Offers depth, a light pepper note, and fine tannins; its colour and structure make it well suited for creating a clear, expressive sparkling rosé.

Region

Languedoc-Roussillion, France

Sparkling Rosé comes from Languedoc–Roussillon, a region marked by geological variety and one of the longest winemaking histories in France. Vineyards here sit on alternating layers of limestone, schist, and clay, each influencing how the grapes retain acidity, develop aroma, and express minerality. The southern climate brings long periods of sun, while the Tramontane wind, a defining feature of the region, cools the valleys and helps preserve freshness in the fruit. Wild garrigue plants such as thyme, rosemary, and lavender grow around the vineyards and subtly shape the aromatic profile of the grapes. Roman roads, monastic vineyards, and centuries of agricultural practice have left a visible imprint on the landscape. After years focused on quantity, the region is now driven by producers who prioritize precision and regional identity.

The Making of Sparking Rosé

Sparkling Rosé is made by harvesting Syrah in the gentle warmth of Southern France and allowing a short period of skin contact to achieve its pale colour and light tannic structure. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to preserve freshness, and the wine then rests for twelve months on fine lees, developing aromatic detail and a more rounded texture. Once the wine has reached its intended profile, the alcohol is removed through a low-temperature, aroma-preserving method designed to retain primary fruit, acidity, and the integrity of the mousse. The aim is to preserve the wine’s structure and its natural spectrum of red berries, floral notes, and the faint spice characteristic of Syrah. The approach reflects standard rosé vinification adapted carefully for dealcoholization.

Oddbird

Nature-Led Wines, Perfected Without Alcohol

Oddbird creates premium wines born from nature, crafted with patience, and perfected through innovation. Each cuvée begins in responsibly farmed vineyards across France, Italy, and Spain, where healthy soils, balanced vines, and precise harvest timing shape the wine long before it reaches the cellar. The winemaking is entirely natural, no pesticides, no additives, just the pure expression of grape, terroir, and time.

Through traditional European methods like natural fermentation, cold maceration, and careful aging in steel, concrete, or barrel, the wines develop real depth and structure. They are then gently dealcoholized using a patented low-temperature vacuum-distillation process that protects delicate aromas and flavor compounds. After distillation, their original aromas are reintegrated, ensuring the liberated wine reflects the full character of its terroir.

Each wine is the result of years of research, sensory science, and collaboration between winemakers, oenologists, and universities across Europe. Oddbird’s mission is clear, to offer wines with all the pleasure, nuance, and elegance of traditional winemaking, crafted for a modern world seeking clarity, balance, and choice.
